Who else is enjoying 80 degree weather one day and 50 degree weather the next? Or maybe all in the same day if you’re from the Midwest? This spring weather is crazy and unpredictable, but the good news is that there are some seriously stylish blazers this season to layer. Plus, adding a blazer and cute shoes to the requisite mom uniform of T and jeans gets me out the door in 5 minutes flat when I have somewhere to be in the evening. I use my blazers to dress up summer evening looks and keep warm too.
Here are my three faves, ok four with the vest, if you’re looking to invest in a “third piece,” as stylists call it:
The Marissa Webb vest is actually from Rent the Runway, so that Unlimited membership just paid for itself. It can be worn multiple ways, and adds dimension to any look. Always buy a great vest if you find one! The grey Veronica Beard blazer with the amazing silver buttons is the warmest of the pieces, and it has a little stretch, but still looks structured, which I love. If you join the Veronica Beard email list, they will send you a welcome coupon for 15% off your first order too. Nordstrom just started carrying Smythe blazers, and there are so many great options. The stripe is slimming and a great weight to wear even on warmer days. The silver one has a subtle sheen that could totally take it to drinks with the girls or brunch with the fam. Heels will look great with any of these with jeans and a T, or choose a flat with a pointy toe to elongate the legs.
