Velvet, Military Detailing & Crops
Hi Everyone! Sorry that I’ve been totally AWOL with school starting and finishing up the construction on our pool. But fall weather is finally here, and it is time to bust out all the things I’ve been eagerly waiting to wear!!! Now that I’m 40, I am all about investment pieces, and curating a designer wardrobe, but I have included “the look for less” for those who don’t want to be that fully committed haha! When styles suit me I like to invest, and when I’m not sure, I’m a “look for less” lady all the way.
I personally have never met a blazer that I didn’t love, so when I saw the military styling to update this basic for fall, I was all, “Gimme, gimme, gimme”! A black blazer is a piece you can wear forever, and to keep it that way, I went for the more subtle version of the trend so I wouldn’t end up looking too much like a grand marshal of a parade.
My #OOTD Look
- My blazer is Saint Laurent, and honestly one of the only big ticket items that I have purchased new for this fall, so I went investment here. 2.Denim is by Frame, and I wouldn’t recommend going with anything else since they’ve nailed it, and mine are currently on sale. 3. There is literally nothing out there exactly like my Prada mules, they are so unique and comfortable. My shoes were another splurge item, but a smart woman always takes good care of her feet! 4. I’ve had my structured Saint Laurent black bag for a while, and since it is classic, it literally goes with everything. Mine is the Cabas Rive Gauche and another great classic style is the Sac du Jour. When I tried on both, I found the Cabas Rive Gauche to be lighter and more spacious. I linked both below for those of you looking for that timeless investment handbag.
My Look-for Le$$
- Blazer is the J. Crew Rhoades in black. I suggest going crafty with adding a patch to the pocket to get that designer look with the embroidered crest. 2.Frame denim, currently on sale. 3. Nine West mules from DSW. 4. Croc embossed handbag from TJ Maxx. I love a good TJ Maxx deal! 5. Navy Seal patch, or choose any one you like, to personalize the garment. I love the idea of customization and having a unique piece–especially for a fraction of the designer price. Have fun with it!
What are some of your favorite fall trends this year & how are you wearing them? XO, Karen
